10 Creative Wedding Table Name Ideas
A favourite part of our journey together is the Zoom calls where we chat through your wedding aspirations and plans. Discussing everything from the timings, to the food, your aisle vision, the florals, the little quirks and, of course, the stationery.
And more often than not, when I ask about your table layout and eventually get to what are your tables going to be called? there’s always a heavy…
pause
And I get it. You were just going to have numbers, right?
But now you have to think of something meaningful… and in multiples!
So, with over 15 years of weddings behind me, here are my top ten creative wedding table name ideas from my past (real) weddings. With examples. Because, well - who DOESN’T want to see pretty pictures of amazing weddings?
1. Birds

Following on from their incredible woodland invites featuring garden birds, Charlotte & Marina featured stunning illustrations of birds found at their wedding venue.

2. Favourite Restaurants
A veritable foodie feast, Meredith & Will commissioned these gorgeous line drawings of their favourite foodie spots across the world to complement their multiple course sharing menu.
3. Numbers, but fun
These are ultimately numbers I know, but with a singer as the bride we had to jump at the chance to create these gorgeous modern, self standing record style table cards.

4. Magicians (famous people)
Shannon & Nic had a truly magical day with playing card invites, illusionists performing and a test tube table plan! Their table names were these vintage magician posters.

5. Hobbies or Interests
Peter & Venus chose to honour Peters absolute love of aviation for their table names, guests used bespoke luggage tags to find their table allocation and tail shaped sculptural name displays alongside a plane model.

6. Special Places
One of my all time favourite weddings, with watercolour, the confetti shot of dreams, lemon place names and tables named after locations which held a special place in J+S's story. The Woods, The Quarry, The Beach, The River, The Fields.

7. Studio Ghibli (Film)
Quinyi & Adam shared a love of Studio Ghibli and although their day was one of the most elegant and classic i've ever seen these beautifully illustrated character table names looked perfectly in keeping.

8. Music
Music is often a big part of my couples stories, so how better than to honour your love of a good tune than to use your favourite albums as table names.
Keep them classy in stylish frames!
9. Rosé Darling
Sam & Glenn were keen rosé drinkers so what better than to hero their favourite tipples along with an illustration and bottle of the good stuff for their guests to drink.

10. Loved Ones
One of my most memorable Covid weddings, highlighting the importance of togetherness and those who could not be present. Why not honour your loved and lost with your table names.
